
Actor Daniel Radcliffe has signed on to take the lead role in the upcoming film “Woman in Black.” The film from James Watkins is a feature adaptation of the novel “The Woman in Black” from Susan Hill.
Radcliffe will play the role of a young lawyer whose law firm sends him to a remote corner of Britain in search of important papers from a client who recently passed away. His character soon learns there are tragic secrets about the house that remain hidden and finds that the village is held hostage by the terrifying specter of the woman’ ghost who appears in search of vengeance. Hammer Films and Alliance Films are producing and financing the project which will begin production this coming fall. Jane Goldman, who wrote “Kick-Ass,” prepared the script for “Woman in Black.”
Radcliffe’ role in “Woman in Black” will be his first major project after the “Harry Potter” franchise. Radcliffe has played the magical boy wizard in all of the films to date with the latest installment coming to theaters this November.
